In order to ensure that members on the board are active participants, we have introduced a pruning policy.
Definition: prune: To cut off or remove dead or living parts or branches of (a plant, for example) to improve shape or growth.
The Simple Policy: At the first of the month, we will be pruning (aka deleting) members with zero (0) posts. Members inactive for more than 45 days will be pruned unless they advise the staff they can't access 'cause they have a trip, vacations....ETC.

• What is a post? Anything where you have pressed "Add Reply". This could be you saying hello, saying thanks, adding a new application link, etc.
• But I don't have anything to post? I don't want to get pruned! As mentioned above, there are other ways to make posts rather than posting download links. Here are some ways: -> Introduce yourself in The Lounge... -> You can say 'Thanks' to people who you have downloaded from their posts -> You can try to help someone fulfill their request in Requests section -> You can post an interesting link, article, anything that you have found in the General Discussion section
• So as long as I continue to participate in the community, I will be safe? EXACTLY! It's easy to participate and it's fun too. It's great to give back to the community whether it by adding links or adding to posts at U/D. It's all participating.
• Why are you pruning? Why can't you just leave people alone? It's a matter of principle and respect. Many members are spending a lot of their spare time sharing links for you and making U/D a great place. Also the admins have put in a lot of time, money and effort into running and maintaining U/P. It is only fair that you participate and not just leech.
• This just seems too hard... is there a simple way to avoid pruning? Yes there is. You can contribute financially to U/D by making a donation. This will elevate your level on the board to a V.I.P. and Moderator, which gives you access to the complete forum. To do this, click Donate or use the Donate button on the top bar. The donation is twelve (12) dollars for twelve (12) months. This means you don't have to worry about being pruned for a whole year!
• New Members New registered members with zero posts after two weeks are pruned as we think they really haven't understood the spirit of a file sharing forum and that this is NOT a read-only site.
